A FREE event for all ages featuring Old Time and Bluegrass music. Craft activities for children and refreshments for everyone are provided.
At 3:00 p.m., kids are invited to come join in our Peanut Butter and Jam Session. This hour of music making is geared towards giving children in the community a chance play instruments and sing along. No special skills needed, just the desire to make some sounds together. Any kids with special musical abilities are encouraged to come show us what you got! Grown-ups with musical talent are encouraged to help lead this session.
Peanut butter, jam and bread will be on hand for sandwich fixing.
At 4:00 p.m., the regular Jam Session gets underway with local and regional musicians sharing their favorite tunes.
Musical styles for the Jam Session tend to include Bluegrass, Folk, Old-Time, Country, but anything goes! This has been a monthly musical happening in downtown Carlisle since September 2008. Refreshments served.
The Nicholas County Heritage Music Series will consist of four performances in 2010, once every third month, beginning in March. Featured musicians will play for the Nicholas County Heritage Music Series.
The event is currently FREE and open to the public. Pot-luck food items are welcome. Donations are encouraged, to help us cover expenses. Look for the donations jar, prominently displayed.
