We sponsor many educational programs for the community.

We conduct an annual dinner and membership meeting at the Depot with a speaker and election of board members.

In 1979, we purchased and renovated the L&N Passenger Depot on Market Street in Carlisle to use an office for the organization; a museum and repository for genealogical records; and as a public meeting place. Oral and/or video histories of Nicholas County natives with significant recollections have been collected and preserved. These resources are available for research by appointment: write, call, or email the Society to schedule your appointment.

We publish a quarterly newsletter for our members. Membership is $10 a year payable to the Nicholas County Historical Society, Inc.
