Early home, perhaps the original, of the Carlisle Deposit Bank which was organized in 1869. The bank occupied the first floor with the upper floor rented out for offices. The bank's vault remains in the building. After the bank built its present headquarters on Main Street in 1900, the building has had many uses.

Advertisements from the period indicate a law office occupied the second floor during the late 1800's.

Current owners plan to convert it to a private residence.
