The Ficklin/Pickrell House, built at an earlier date, was purchased by Henry and Amelia Pickrell in 1850. Henry Pickrell and later, his son Thomas Pickrell, operated a dry-goods business next door for a time, and the two buildings were connected on the second floor.

The home is now a residence for the fifth generation of the Pickrell family.
